Laboratory Services

The laboratory at Pioneer Equine Hospital allows our veterinarians to obtain important information quickly to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment of our patients. We perform complete blood counts, fibrinogen, electrolytes, Serum Amyloid A (SAA), Foal IgG snap tests, and chemistry panels on-site. All of our surgery patients have a complete blood count and blood chemistry performed before a procedure is done. Microscopic examination of blood and fluid, culture and sensitivity of fluid samples, can also be performed by our technicians. Pioneer has the convenience of processing Interluekin-1 Receptor Antagonist Protein (IRAP), Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Pro-Stride™ Autologous Protein Solution enabling quick turn-around and implement of therapeutics efficiently.
