Equine Health Technicians
Kamaria was born and raised in Silicon Valley, California. Once the horse bug bit her at age 8, she knew the horse industry was the only thing she wanted to be involved in. After 8 years of English lessons, leasing horses and relentless pursuance by Kamaria, her mother finally broke down and purchased her her first horse, Darian. In 2007, Kamaria graduated from CSU Fresno with a B.S. in Equine Science. While in attending CSU Fresno, she was a member of the Equestrian Team, a sister of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and worked at the Quarter Horse Unit on campus. In 2011, Kamaria decided to peruse a career as a Veterinary Technician and in the fall of 2012, she completed coursework at Modesto Junior College,
becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. When she is not pursuing her educational goals, Kamaria enjoys riding/competing her cutting and eventing horses, snuggling with her dogs and spending time with her friends and family.
Kendra has been working at Pioneer Equine Hospital since January 2001.
She is the MRI and CT technologist.
Outside of work she can be found riding her bike, playing with her dogs or spending time with family.
Kathryn is a locally grown from Modesto, graduating Johansen High School in 2004. In
high school, Kathryn was highly involved in the 4H Horse group and CHSRA District 5
excelling in Pole Bending all the way to Nationals.
After she attended a seminar of Equine Reproduction and Artificial Insemination at
Colorado State University Fort Collins in 2003, she made the goal to reach Veterinary
school and specialize in Reproduction and Surgery. She started by completed the MJC
Veterinary Technician Program in 2009.
Currently, Kathryn is working towards finishing her Bachelor of Animal Science at Fresno State University and an Associate Degree in American Sign Language at Fresno City College. She has spent 2 years at the Quarter Horse unit training young horses, collecting stallions, and monitoring mares throughout the breeding cycle. Moving on, she spent a year at the Dairy Unit as a Hospital Milker gaining a more thorough knowledge of AI working as an Assistant Herdsman. In 2013, Kathryn also became involved in the race horse industry, helping with yearling sales prep and attending the sales throughout CA.
On any weekend after working you can find her giving riding lessons on any one of her 7 horses, helping others train their horses, and trying to return to competing in barrel racing. She has a high interest in Racing, Reining, Cutting and working cow horses.
When not being completely devoted to horses you can find her farming, going to a LA Kings hockey game, providing pet care for people traveling, looking for willing people to try her newest cooking creation, and spending time with family and friends.
Lameness Technician/Patient Care
Allie Jordan came to work at Pioneer Equine Hospital in the summer of 2013. She takes a special interest in lameness, but benefits from all aspects of being a veterinarian technician. She was raised around horses; both her parents come from a western background. She grew up participating in rodeo at Junior and High School level and was offered a scholarship to Feather River College. She attended Feather River College in Quincy, Ca and studied Ag Business. On her off time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, along with riding her horses as well as attending barrel races.
Kindra Pierce-Moreno, RVT
Kindra was born and raised in California where she spent most of her
childhood traveling up and down the state playing competitive fast-pitch
softball and riding horses. Kindra obtained a degree in Animal Science, then received her RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician) license in 2008. Kindra has been employed with Pioneer Equine Hospital since 2011 -- Veterinary Medicine has been a huge passion of hers since she was a little girl. . Her interests include: emergency/critical care, patient care, surgery and lameness. When she's not working, you will most likely catch her traveling around the country to rodeos and bull ridings with their bucking bulls. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, her four-legged critters (there's a lot of them), team roping and is a HUGE sports fan!
After spending 12 years working in a local mixed animal practice, Sara joined Pioneer in May of 2014 as a pharmacy technician and coordinator of shipping and receiving. With 2 kids and a husband who enjoy riding and rodeo, she occasionally gets a chance to ride her own horse. She also greatly enjoys the culinary arts and vinology.
